NameCheap Domain Name Registration

I personally use NameCheap for all my recent domain name registrations.  The biggest reason I went with them is that they have support that you can actually get a hold of when you need them.  They are also usually about $1 cheaper than GoDaddy but with sales you will need to check both.   And as an added bonus, when you register new domain or transfer an existing domain, you get free WhoisGuard.  WhoisGuard keeps your registration information (WhoIs) private which is great for your privacy.

GoDaddy Domain Name Regsistration

GoDaddy is probably the most popular domain registrar out there. I have some of my domains with them. Their prices are very competitive so you may want to price compare with NameCheap above. I have had great service with them. It looks like they have now instituted live support via telephone which is great. So to choose between NameCheap and GoDaddy, it may come down to price at the time of registration and whether the WhoisGuard at NameCheap is of interest to you.

HostGator Web Hosting

HostGator web hosting is recommended by most of the online marketers.  I have used them for a number of years and have been very happy with the service.  Their support is excellent.  They have live chat which gets you the answers you need right away and in real time.  And as the ad says, they can host unlimited domain names without you paying any extra fees.  Your HostGator account is not just for your Wordpress blog.  You can also host a conventional website with the same account.  Again, HostGator is highly recommended.   Get the “Baby Plan” as that has the features that you will need.  For extra savings, if you have a coupon code (currently “SPRING”) for 20% off, sign up for a year so the discount applies for the full year.  Otherwise you get just 20% off your first month.
